Offensive Player of the Year: Dillon Gabriel, Mililani, QB, Sr.As the state's all-time leading passer, it's no surprise that Mililani's Dillon Gabriel is the ScoringLive All-Hawaii Open Division Offensive Player of the Year.
The senior southpaw threw for a whopping 3,754 yards and 38 touchdowns on a 56.7 percent clip to help lead the Trojans to the league title and a runner-up finish in the state tournament.
Gabriel, who will play collegiately at the University of Central Florida, finished his prep career with 9,973 passing yards with 104 TDs.
"He's a competitor," said Kahuku coach Sterling Carvalho. "He has such great command, he's a great field general. His team rallies around him, great quarterback. He plays to win the game."
Carvalho also praised Gabriel's ability to dissect opposing defenses.
"He goes through his reads and his progressions really well. He's able to break down coverages and throw to the open man. He sees the field well. He's very poised, whether he's in the pocket or out of the pocket. He has great composure."
Defensive Player of the Year: Faatui Tuitele, Saint Louis, DL, Sr.Saint Louis defensive lineman Faatui Tuitele is the Defensive Player of the Year, but teammate Jordan Botelho was strongly considered for the award as well.
In the end, Tuitele's consistent domination in the trenches edged Botelho's big-play ability.
"Tuitele was the man in the middle," Carvalho said of the University of Washington-bound senior. "He's really stout, good feet, good hand, quick first step. He's really big and fast, great combination. For his size, he's very quick."
Coach of the Year: Cal Lee, Saint LouisLong-time Saint Louis coach Cal Lee is the Open Division Coach of the Year as the Crusaders won the highest-tier state championship for the third straight year.
It's also worth noting that all of the titles that Saint Louis won in that span were all under a different starting quarterback.
