Player of the Year: Lionel Gannon, Sr., Outside Hitter, Moanalua
The 6-foot-3 Gannon was a key cog in Moanalua's stunning run to a first state championship. Na Menehune ran the ILH gauntlet along the way, knocking out Hawaii Baptist in three straight in the quarters, Mid-Pacific in four sets in the semis before gutting out a five set win over perennial powerhouse Punahou in the title game. In that three match stretch, Gannon racked up 63 kills, eight total blocks and three aces. In OIA play, Gannon had 24 kills in an OIA title game win over Mililani, and also had a 29 kill outing against Kahuku in the regular season.
Coach of the Year: Alan Cabanting, Moanalua
Cabanting finally broke through for a state championship at the helm of Na Menehune in the 2026 season, stunning Punahou in the title game to claim Moanalua's maiden title in volleyball at the state level. Moanalua went a perfect 13-0 in league play, capping off a 15th OIA title overall with a four-set win over Mililani, then knocked off three consecutive ILH teams to finish the year at 16-0. Senior outsides Gannon and Jarryn McCutcheon were key all year long, as was Kapolei transfer Darric Abe, who anchored the Na Menehune backline to perfection at libero. The setting duo of senior Christian Cruz and sophomore Colby Kaawa both garnered All-Hawaii second team nods, as did middle Taylor Chung.
