Punahou to host Wooden Course basketball camp

Boys and girls ages 6-18 will have the chance to immerse themselves in the techniques and philosophy of a legendary UCLA coach at the John R. Wooden Course Basketball Camp held June 4-7, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at Hemmeter Fieldhouse on the Punahou School campus.

Craig Impelman, former assistant basketball coach at UCLA, leads the camp with the assistance of Punahou varsity coaches Darren Matsuda and Kekoa Taliaferro.

Cost to attend is $200 per student, with online registration at www.punahou.edu/clinics. For more information, please contact the Punahou Athletics Office at (808) 944-5816.

Course participants will receive individual skills training and personal evaluation within a rigorous curriculum based on the philosophy of late basketball coach, John Robert Wooden.

Coach Impelman, who has taught the course for more than 30 years, covers all aspects of the "Wooden Way," including in-depth training in skills, team fundamentals and values.
