Kamehameha holds off Govs to win Alegre tourney

In a battle between respective defending state champions, Division I Kamehameha survived a late charge by the Division II Govs to claim the 13th James Alegre Invitational title, 68-57.

Guard Dyrbe Enos poured in 31 points and Makoa Camanse-Stevens added 10 more for the Warriors, who led 33-22 at intermission.

Farrington was able to trim the lead to as few as 5 in the fourth quarter, but never got any closer.

Viane Vaina had 20 points and 16 boards, and Mikey Kleman 18 points for the Govs in the loss.


Moanalua 60, Mid-Pacific 26

Na Menehune won the third-place game in the Alegre Invitational in blowout fashion, cruising past the Owls, 60-26.

Alex Hutson had 14 points, and Shane Ratledge 13 to lead the way for Moanalua.
