WAIPIO - Nicole Arata and Daylene Antonio each drove in four runs and Campbell knocked off Mililani, 14-0, Saturday night in a game called after top of the fifth because of the 10-run mercy rule at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.

Sophomore right-hander Summer Palipti scattered three hits and four walks for the complete-game win for the Sabers (6-3), who are third in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red West. The Trojans (4-5) will try to even the series Tuesday at Mililani.

The Sabers' bats came to life after scoring two runs against Kapolei, which swept Campbell, 2-1 and 4-1, last week.

"Yesterday at practice, we had a harder, intense practice to help us play harder today," Arata said. "We just needed to bring our 'A' game."

That, the Sabers did.

Arata batted 2 for 4 with a three-run home run to center in the first inning. She also had an RBI single in the third inning.

"I was so shocked," Arata said of the homer. "I was just looking for a base hit."

Antonio was 2 for 3, each single driving in two runs.

"It feels good because I haven't been hitting," said Antonio, who missed Thursday's game against Kapolei to attend her grandmother's funeral. "I just wanted to get on base."

Kawehi Kahana also hit a three-run homer for the Sabers.

Sharae Espreciaon was 2 for 3 with a double, Collette Black was 2 for 3 with a triple.

Posting the most hits for the Sabers was sophomore right fielder Jessica Arata, Nicole's sister. The younger Arata was 3 for 3.

The Sabers jumped on Trojans' starter Alysia Maddison for six runs in two innings, but half the runs  were uneanred. Campbell sent nine batters up in a three-run second and 10 batters up in a four-run third.

T.J. Fernandez didn't fare better in relief of Maddison, giving up eight runs, half of them unearned because of an error.

After it wraps up the series Tuesday against Mililani, Campbell closes out the regular season by hosting first-place Wai'anae on Saturday.
