'Iolani, Moanalua advance in AOP tourney


Defending Division I state champion 'Iolani cruised to a 75-38 win over Aiea in an opening round match up of the California Hotel AOP Classic.

In other opening round games, Moanalua rolled to an 88-25 win over Kohala, Farrington topped Kamehameha II, 71-46, and host AOP beat Kapaa, 69-41.

Consolation games begin this afternoon at 3:30p, with Kohala taking on Aiea, followed by Kapaa vs. Kamehameha II at 5:00p.

Host AOP matches up against Farrington at 6:30p in the first semifinal, with 'Iolani taking on Moanalua at 8:00p.

The final day of the tournament is tomorrow, with the 7th place game set to tip off at 1:00p, followed by the consolation final at 2:30p, 3rd place game at 4:00p and the championship at 6:00p.
