Multiple Friday softball games rained out

A handful of postseason softball games scheduled for Friday has been pushed back due to inclement weather.

The Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I quarterfinal matchup between Kapolei and Pearl City will now be played at Sand Island Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The Mililani and Moanalua contest, which was originally supposed to be played at Mililani, will now be played at Moanalua at 3 p.m.

The postponements of these two quarterfinal games will also push back the league's semifinals and championshp games. The OIA D1 semifinals will now be played Monday at McKinley's Tiger Softball Stadium with the D2 and D1 championshp game to be played Tuesday at the same venue.

Additonally, that means games on the consolation side for the OIA fifth place and third place games will be moved back as well. Kailua will now play the loser of the Pearl City-Kapolei game on Monday while Leilehua will play the loser of Mililani-Moanalua on Monday as well. Both games will start 3 p.m. and will be hosted by the higher seed. The winner of those two games will earn the OIA's final two state tournament spots and battle it out in the fifth place game.

The losers of each semifinal game will also meet Monday afternoon in the OIA third place game.

In the OIA Division II playoffs, a first round matchup between Radford and Waialua will resume Saturday at 3 p.m. at Radford. The Rams held a 6-3 lead in the third inning before play was suspended on Friday.

Second-seeded Kalani awaits the winner after enjoying an extended first-round bye. That game will be played Monday afternoon.

On the other side of the bracket, Aiea and Waipahu have both secured D2 State Tournament berths and will lock up against each other Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. along Ulune Street in Aiea. Winner advances to the OIA D2 Championship game.

-----

Friday's Interscholastic League of Honolulu D1 semifinal between Kamehameha and Maryknoll has also been pushed back. The two teams will play at Kamehameha at 4 p.m. on Monday. This pushes back the championship game which was originally scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Regardless of the ILH second round tournament result, a playoff game will have to be played either for the overall ILH championship and a seeded berth in the D1 State Tournament, or for the league's second spot in states.

-----

Earlier today, the ILH D1 Championship baseball game was also postponed after it was determined field conditions at Goeas Field in Hawaii Kai would be unplayable. That game will be played Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Ala Wai Park.
