KALIHI -- Leilehua beat Kalani, 25-22, 25-13, 16-25, 25-11 in the opening round of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I playoffs at Farrington's Kitamura Gymnasium on Wednesday evening. 

The Mules (7-4 overall, 6-4 league) advance to the quarterfinals to play the Easts' top seed Kahuku (11-0) at Kahuku for the nightcap of a doubleheader. The Falcons conclude the season 6-6 overall, 6-5 league. 

The Mules took a commanding two set lead, but Kalani led the third set by as much as 10 points and ultimately won, 25-16 to force a fourth set. 

Both teams traded points early on, but Saramasina Docktor put the offense on her shoulders to help spark a Leilehua run. The Mules outscored the Falcons, 12-2 to close out the fourth set.
