Jim On's six TDs fuel Iolani's 47-18 win over Saint Francis

Led by six touchdowns thrown by Austin Jim On, 'Iolani defeated Saint Francis by the score of 47-18 on Saturday evening at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium.

'Iolani, ranked fourth in the SC/OC16 Division II Power Rankings, improved to 4-3 in league play and 6-4 overall. Saint Francis fell to 0-3 in the ILH and 1-8 overall to end their season.

'Iolani's Austin Jim On threw to the end zone three times in the first half. One was a 10-yard score to Tyler Teruya in quarter one. The other two came in the second quarter at 7:29 with a 7-yard pass to Chase Kanekuni and at 3:05 with a 35-yard pass to Keoni-Kordell Makekau.

Lachoneus Tautuiaki ran in a 1-yard touchdown for Saint Francis, and the score was 20-6 at intermission.

'Iolani's defensive leader, senior Marc Ma, sacked Saint Francis quarterback Maika Teal three times in the first half.

The relentless Saint Francis squad refused to give up and tested the Division II dynasty in the second half.

Two plays into the third quarter, 'Iolani's Jim On connected with Makekau for a 71-yard touchdown to push the lead to 27-6.

Saint Francis scored twice (Mamiya and Won) and narrowed the gap to 26-17 at the end of quarter three. But 'Iolani's Teruya scored twice on their first two offensive possessions in the fourth quarter. The score was then 40-18.

'Iolani's second unit scored on the last drive of the contest to make the final score 47-18.

Austin Jim On completed 19 of his 28 pass attempts with 249 yards and 6 TDs.

The road ends here for Saint Francis and completes a successful inaugural season. The reigning DII state champions will play in the ILH DII final next Friday against Damien.
