Mililani, Moanalua sweep into Division I quarters


 



Mililani outside hitter Jordyn Keamo slammed down 12 kills, served up 3 aces and added 9 digs to lead the Trojans to a 25-20, 26-24, 25-18 sweep of Castle in a first round game of the New City Nissan/HHSAA Girls Volleyball State Championships held at McKinley's Student Body Gymnasium.

The Trojans will face BIIF champion Kamehameha-Hawaii in a quarterfinal match Wednesday back at McKinley at 5 p.m.

Ku'ulei Lynch led the Knights with 11 kills, 8 digs and 2 aces. Ella Tiumalu and Qiara Pua'ali-Puahi added 5 blocks each.

In the first game of the night, Moanalua took care of King Kekaulike in straight sets, 25-12, 25-15, 25-19, earning the Na Menehune the right to take on top-seeded Punahou in a Wednesday 7 p.m. quarterfinal.

Analise Austin led Moanalua with 14 kills and 4 blocks.

King Kekaulike got 11 kills from Taylor Fernandez and a pair of aces from Kaila Aguera in the loss.
