Positional Player of the Year: Alika Ahu, PAC-5, Sr., INF
Ahu did a little bit of everything in the Wolfpack's 2026 campaign that culminated in a runner-up finish in the Division I state tourney. The 6-foot-4 shortstop anchored PAC-5's infield defensively while hitting .431 on the season with 18 runs and 14 RBIs. He accumulated six doubles, three triples and a home run for good measure hitting out of the lead off spot. While deplloyed solely in a relief role as a pitcher during the regular season, the senior dazzled in his lone start in the tournament semis, allowing no runs on just two hits, striking out eight and walking just one in a six inning win over Waiakea. His pitching line for the season, 0.00 ERA in 13 2/3 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts and two walks, with a 2-0 W-L record and four saves.
Pitcher of the Year: Zayne Hookala, Mililani, Sr., P
It was a senior season to remember for Hookala, the ace of a Trojans' staff that averaged just one run per contest in a six game postseason stretch. Hookala logged 33 innings of work on the seasonh, sporting a 5-0 record and a 0.64 ERA with 48 strikeouts and just five walks. He reached double digit strikeouts in three starts, which included 16 in a complete game win over Aiea in his first start of the season. Hookala went the distance in the state semifinals against Kamehameha, allowing just two runs (none earned) on six hits in the the Trojans' 3-2 win, and also got the ball in the OIA title game, where he logged another complete game win.
Coach of the Year: Mark Hirayama, Mililani
Led by Hirayama, the Trojans finally broke through in 2026 for its inaugural state title, doing so in its 28th all-time appearance. Hirayama, who's been the head coach since 2009, is now 27-16-1 in state tourney games. The win snapped a streak of three losses in the championship game for Mililani, where it had lost to three teams from the ILH, all since 2013. Mililani was 10-2 in the regular season, but struggled somewhat offensively in stretches and saw five wins with a margin of two runs or less. That changed from the OIA playoffs, where the Trojans posted three straight mercy rule shortened contests to take the league title, then opened up the state tournament with another mercy rule win, 11-1, over Kamehameha-Hawaii. The Trojans placed five players on the All-Hawaii first team, including Hookala, who was named Pitcher of the Year. Utility Ezra Ugale was named OIA West Player of the Year.
