Noa led Punahou's high-flying passing attack

In a battle showcasing No. 3 and No. 4, it was No. 9 that stole the spotlight.

Punahou wide receiver Kanawai Noa electrified a crowd of about 4,500 at Hawaii Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium with regularity, pulling down a game-high 198 yards on 8 receptions, three of them for touchdowns, in third-ranked Punahou's dominating 43-14 win over fourth-ranked Saint Louis.

The sophomore wide receiver, who dons the number 9 jersey, currently leads all Division I pass catchers statistically with 719 yards and 10 touchdowns.

"Well, its not really an individual effort, its a team effort" said Noa. "Without my quarterback or my line, I wouldn't be doing the things that we are right now."

As a team, the Buffanblu certainly had all cylinders firing against the Cruasders, encapsulated by the first play from scrimmage in the second quarter, as Punahou QB Tui Tuileta would connect with a streaking Noa along the right sideline for a gorgeous 67-yard touchdown, on a play that looked to be an overthrown ball intended for another Buffanblu reciever.

"The players executed really well today (against Saint Louis) and when the line is clicking everything else can click." remarked Tuileta, who completed 21-of-26 passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

And the Tuileta-to-Noa tandem would click two more times on the evening, the first on a 1-yarder for a second score late in the third quarter, and the other with 6:41 left in the contest on a 44-yard deep ball.
