Johnson, Taumua lead OIA Red East all-stars




The future looks bright in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red East.

Juniors Tyler Taumua of Farrington and Kawehena Johnson of Kahuku were named the division's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.

Randall Okimoto was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Governors to the OIA Red East title.

During the regular season, Taumua led all rushers with 879 yards or 146.5 yards per game.

Johnson, also named as first-team utility, was deft pass defender and sure tackler as a safety for the Red Raiders.

The all-stars were picked by the division's coaches.
