Iolani continued its title defense by posting a 2-1 win over Campbell in quarterfinal action in the Hele/HHSAA Division I Boys Soccer State Championships.
Soichi Akamata scored in the 10th minute and Asa Hironaka added an insurance goal in the opening moments of the second half to pace the Raiders, and that insurance goal was key, as the Sabers broke through in the 51st minute on a Jonah Poepoe goal to get within striking distance.
In other action in the round of eight at Waipio Soccer Penninsula, Kalani took down Hilo, 1-0, with Cody Fuse's goal in the 61st minute the difference. The Falcons face off with Iolani in the 7:00 p.m. semifinal at Main Stadium on Friday, Feb. 6.
Rylan Sergent's score in the 63rd minute was the difference in the Trojans' 1-0 win over the Knights, setting up a showdown with ILH power Punahou in the 5 p.m. semifinal.
The Buffanblu scored early and often in an 8-1 win over MIL champion Kekaulike. Kimat Holcomb, Thompson Cheever and Matias Valetine each netted a pair of goals against Na Alii.
