The Knights led after the first inning thanks to an RBI base hit by Ryden Yoshikawa that made it a 1-0 gmae, but Noah Sham's two RBI single in the bottom of the second put the home team back into the lead for good.

Hitters seven through nine in Kaiser's order each notched a base hit, led by Jayden Iwanaka, who was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Hayzen Inouye (1 for 2, run scored), Jesse Shinagawa (1 for 2, RBI), and Kolt Glipa, who came in to pinch hit for Inouye, helped account for five of the Cougars' eight hits in the game.

Zach Ho gave Kaiser an additional cushion with an RBI double in the third, making it a 3-1 game. Ho finished 2 for 3 on the afternoon.

The Knights had three of their four hits come in the first two innings, and never found enough offense to back a solid outing by Kaedem Pilanca, who allowed three earned runs in six innings of work. He struck out eight and walked none.
