Kapolei reached the half century mark against a Hawaii opponent for the fourth time this season, overwhelming Kailua, 51-7, in an afternoon affair at Alex Kane Stadium.

Liatama Amisone factored into four scores, three through the air and another on the ground, as the Hurricanes racked up 603 yards of total offense to just 195 for the home team.

The visiting team put up 13 first quarter points to take an early lead, but the Surfers responded early in the second with a scoring drive capped off by a six yard keeper by Romeo Ortiz that cut the deficit in half.

From there, however, it was all Kapolei down the stretch.

Amisone scored on a 35 yard keeper of his own to push the lead back to double digits, Hurley Kennedy booted a third field goal in the half to extend it to 23-7 and the half was capped off by Amisone's second scoring toss of the afternoon, this one from nine yards out to Tristen Inay that made it a 30-7 contest.

In the third quarter, a 55 yard pitch and catch to Kaina Kamohalii from Amisone extended the lead further, and the Hurricanes put up two more scores via the ground game to close out the fourth for good measure, one a nine yard rumble by Reeno Teo and the other a seven yard run by Chase Camarillo.

Amisone completed 16 of 32 passes for 221 yards and three scores and added 162 yards on the ground on just seven carries.

Kapolei churned up 363 yards on the ground for the game, had two ball carriers reach the century mark, Amisone and Camarillo (110 yards on 13 carries), and nearly a third with Reeno Teo tallying 91 yards of his own.

Kennedy had a busy afternoon kicking the ball for the Hurricanes, with three field goals and six extra points to his credit.
