Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, California) outlasted Pembroke Pines Charter (Florida), 51-48, in the semifinals of the Iolani Classic Tuesday afternoon.

The third-ranked Trailblazers advance to the championship game for the first time since 2018 will take on No. 20 St. Paul VI (Chantilly, Virginia), who handily beat Central Catholic (Portland, Oregon), 58-43.

Tipoff is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 4 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time (HST).

West Linn (Oregon) dropped out of the tournament for undisclosed reasons and threw a wrench in the scheduling. Central Catholic, who was scheduled to play Iolani in today's 1 p.m. game, filled the slot vacated by the Lions.

The 2 p.m. HST game will feature host Iolani and Central Catholic to avoid a rematch with Pembroke Pines. The Jaguars beat the Rams, 75-50 in the quarterfinals on Monday.

Ramel Lloyd powered the Trailblazers with 23 points and Mike Price added 12 points off the bench.

Price tied the game at 34 and then 36 the fourth quarter as he went to work to score 10 of his 12 points in the final stanza.

Elijah Wyche completed the three-point play, but Price answered with a baseline floater to trail by one.

Lloyd tied the game by splitting a pair of free throws to tie it at 39 and gave the Trailblazers the lead after getting three points the hard way. He extended the lead, 47-42 after drilling a 3-pointer from the right wing as the shot clock was expiring.

Kolby King, a St. John's commit, finished with 22 points and hit a pull up jumper in transition and scored again to bring the Jaguars within one.

Price's dribble-drive gave the Trailblazers a 49-46 lead and Pembroke Pines turned it over on an errant pass. Lloyd went 7 of 15 from the free throw line and missed a pair with 31.5 seconds remaining.

King air balled a 3-pointer, but Caelum Ethridge (8 points) was there to clean it up with a putback to trail, 49-48.

Bronny James threw a full court pass and Lloyd caught it in stride and flushed it in transition for a 51-48 lead. King shot an off-balanced 3-pointer from the wing contested by Kijani Wright and the ball was batted around before being secured by Lloyd to end the game.

Sierra Canyon led, 14-10 after the first quarter and went up 19-10 to open the second quarter after Lloyd found Wright in the paint to force a 30 second timeout from the Jaguars.

Pembroke Pines responded with a 7-0 run capped by King's 3-pointer from the right corner, but the Trailblazers held a 21-17 going into intermission.

At the 3:56 mark, Ethridge made the basket and was fouled and Wyche and Lloyd each received technical fouls. King gave the Jaguars the lead for the first time and Ethridge made another basket for a 28-25 lead. Pembroke Pines led by as much as seven after Geoff Sprouse drained a 3-pointer form the right corner, 34-27.

Price made a pair of free throws and James was intentionally fouled by Sprouse in transition and split the free throws. Lloyd added a pair from the charity stripe as Sierra Canyon got within two heading into the fourth quarter.

Sierra Canyon shot 12 for 22 (54.5 percent) from the free throw line while Pembroke Pines shot 11 for 16 (68.8 percent).

St. Paul VI races past Central Catholic, 58-43

The Panthers jumped out to a quick lead 11-2 after six points from Garrett Sundra off the bench. Dug McDaniel (Michigan commit) threw a nice, no-look pass to Ben Hammond, who finished it in transition to make it 15-4.

Luke Johnson hit a pair of free throws to stop the bleeding and trailed, 16-6 going into the second quarter.

The Rams heated up from the perimeter after Aidan Slater hit a deep 3 from the top of the arc. Gray Thompson added a 3-pointer from the left corner and Johnson drained another from the same spot to make it a two point game.

Darren Harris had a team-high 14 points, hit two of his four triples in the quarter to give the Panthers a 27-19 lead and started to pull away.

The Rams closed the gap by as much as seven, but Justin Boggs (11 points) was 2 for 3 from the perimeter and McDaniel scored all six of his points in the third quarter as St. Paul VI built a 52-36 lead going into the final quarter.
