HALAWA—Another week, another lopsided win.

AJ Bianco accounted for four total touchdowns and the Crusader defense stepped up as No. 2 Saint Louis rolled past No. 1 Kamehameha for the first time this season with an emphatic, 41-7 win at Aloha Stadium Friday.

The Crusaders (4-3 overall, 4-2 ILH) found new life and momentum in the second round with a 35-0 win over Punahou (1-4) the previous week and followed up with a 34-point tonight to force a winner-take-all contest next week at Aloha Stadium to determine the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Open Division champion and state tournament representative.

"We were really working hard to get better every week, we started off slow and we got a little better each week. It takes us a while since it's a short season. We still need to get better and we can. We haven't won anything yet. Next week is huge, it's for all the marbles," Saint Louis coach Ron Lee said.

The Warriors saw their three-game winning streak come to an end to drop to 3-2 in the ILH. Kamehameha was seeking its first ILH title and state tournament berth since 2009.

Saint Louis posted 464 yards of total offense led by the University of Hawaii-commit, who threw for 351 yards on 16-of-21 passing, three touchdowns and added another on the ground.

"We've always known, he didn't really play. This is his fifth or sixth game as a high school athlete. He's starting to gain confidence and he has a lot of upside, he's done a heck of a job. He's got so much confidence now," Lee said of Bianco.

The Crusader defense did its part and held Kamehameha to a season-low 224 yards of total offense and 121 net rushing yards.

"We played a lot better defense, that was the key, that helps the offense," Lee said.

Noah Bartley, who gashed the Crusaders in their past two meetings with 330 yards and three touchdowns was held to 32 yards on eight carries in the first half. He did not play in the second half due to an ankle injury.

"We showed some film of how we need to play with more aggressiveness. We were tentative, but learning. Now we're playing Saint Louis defense and it helps the whole team," Lee said.

Lason Napuunoa kicked a 30-yard field goal to kick start the Crusaders' scoring drive.

Saint Louis' only turnover of the game was Mana Catrett's fumble that was recovered by Micah Kaonohi-Kaihenui at the Crusader 43. The Warriors could not cash in the turnover and turned it over on downs.

"Here we go again," Lee said when he saw the fumble. "That was bad fundamentals. They can't make mistakes."

The Crusaders started on their own 39 and five plays later, Bianco connected with Devon Tauaefa for a 45-yard touchdown to cap a 61-yard drive to extend Saint Louis' lead, 10-0.

Bianco made it 17-0 off a 13-yard keeper with 8:18 to go in the second quarter and finished with 17 rushing yards on six attempts. Xander Vincent picked off Kealii Ah Yat and Saint Louis redeemed the turnover with a 22-yard field goal from Napuunoa five plays later.

Saint Louis' defense stuffed Micah Mahiai at the 50 on a fourth-and-2 and later converted a fourth-and-10 with a 19-yard pass from Bianco to Trech Kekahuna to put the ball on the Kamehameha 18. Following a spike, Bianco found a wide-open Peters-de Laura and Napuunoa's kick put Saint Louis up, 27-0 going into the half.

"That definitely helped and I liked how we executed in our hurry-up offense and we're reaching a level we're striving for. AJ did a heck of a job managing the clock and liked how we executed under pressure," Lee said.

The Crusaders tacked on another touchdown after Bianco launched a 65-yard touchdown pass to a streaking Mason Muaau that just took two plays in their opening offensive drive of the third quarter.

Bianco completed a 3-yard pass to Randon Cordeiro then followed up with 38 and 25-yard passes to Chyler DeSilva and Yosei Takahashi respectively to set up Keola Apduhan's 3-yard rushing touchdown to initiate running clock with 5:51 left in the third quarter.

Ah Yat went 8 for 19 for 103 yards with an interception and a 60-yard touchdown pass to Raiden Morris for Kamehameha's only score of the game at the 7:44 mark in the fourth quarter.

Mahiai had 50 rushing yards on 11 carries and Brennan Dupio had 4 1/2 tackles and a sack and Reyn Asato had six tackles in the loss.

Kamehameha won the previous two contests, 23-21 on Sept. 24 and 34-31 on Oct. 15.
