Warriors top Aggies in first home game with fans since 2019

For the first time since 2019, Hawaii played in front of a home crowd in a 48-34 victory over New Mexico State, improving the Warriors to 10-0 all-time against the Aggies and 6-0 all-time in Honolulu.

Dedrick Parson, who got his first career start in place of an injured Dae Dae Hunter, rushed for a game-high 161 yards and three scores. His counterpart, Juwan Price, alsob had a huge evening on the ground, racking up 159 rushing yards and two scores.

The game featured 968 yards of total offense, and big plays were the name on the game on both sides of the ball. Three Warriors' scores came on plays of 75 yards or longer, two interceptions for touchdowns and the other a 75 yard burst to the end zone by Calvin Turner.

Khoury Bethley's 79 yard pick six early in the second quarter and Darius Muasau's 75 yard return for a TD in opening moments of the fourth marked the first time the Warriors got two returns for touchdown since 2006 against Idaho.

A crowd of 1000 attended the game at the Clarence TC Ching Complex.

Next up for the Warriors, who leveled their record back to .500 at 4-4, is a road against Utah State on Oct. 30.
