All Hawaii public high schools will require student athletes, coaches and volunteers to get vaccinated in order to participate in school sanctioned athletic activities, the state Department of Education announced Wednesday.
The suspension effectively delays the start of the fall season until late Sept.
HHSAA executive director Chris Chun told Hawaii News Now that an emergency board meeting is set for Friday, where dates for a shortened season that includes state tournaments will be discussed.
The letter sent home to parents and guardians is available here.
