Lancers dominate service line to sweep Wildcats

Sacred Hearts totaled 12 aces to sweep Konawaena in the opening round of the New City Nissan Division II Girls Volleyball State Championships at Saint Francis' gym Wednesday night. Set scores were 25-7, 25-15 and 25-12.

Ryanne "Cookie" Burnett led the Lancers (10-4) in the win with 14 klls, six digs, two blocks and two aces to power Sacred Hearts into Thursday's quarterfinal match against top-seeded Mid-Pacific.

Alyssa Bautista was Sacred Hearts' top weapon behind the service line with four aces. She also added nine assists and a match-high 19 digs.

Malie Grace had six kills and eight digs to lead the Wildcats (10-9) in the loss.
