Twelve prep football players to be honored




The 20th annual National Football Foundation Hawaii Chapter 242 Scholar Athlete Awards Banquet is set for noon, April 22, at the Ala Moana Hotel, Hibiscus Ballroom.

The 2018 inductees are Akila Arecci, Marcus Faufata-Pedrina and Matthew Faufata-Pedrina, all of Damien; Chasen Castilliano of Farrington; Jake Angelo of Iolani; Nathan Bek of Island Pacific Academy (PAC-5); Samson Reed of Kahuku; Cody Uehara of Kalani; Kainoakeola Sanchez of Kamehameha-Maui; Jacob Schmidt of Leilehua; Maika Fernandez of Saint Francis; and Corey Agena of Waimea.

The players were selected primarily for their academic achievements and community service.

Tickets for the program and buffet lunch is $65 per person or $600 for a table of 10 and $750 for a Gold Circle Table of 10. Deadline to register is April 16.
