Hawaii East falls short to California

Local boys just came up short in this one.

Hawaii East narrowly lost a 21-20 game to a team of California all-stars in the annual Junior Prep Sports Paradise Football Classic championship game Saturday night at Hawaiian Tel FCU Field at Aloha Stadium.

After Rico Rosario scored on a 2-yard run to make it 21-20 game with 4:07 left in the game, Hawaii East tried to take the lead on a 2-point conversion but saw its pass attempt fall short.

Trevin Maae led Hawaii East in the loss with seven tackles, four for loss, and three sacks.
