Kapaa advanced to the Division II state semifinals for the third year in a row with a 2-0 win over Makua Lani at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex Thursday afternoon.
The Warriors, the Kauai Interscholastic Federation champion and second-seeded team in the 12-team The Queen's Medical Center/HHSAA Division II state semifinals, got a score from Talia Washington in the 12th minute and an insurance goal from Kaylee Overmyer in their shutout win.
Kapaa will play third-seeded PAC-5 in the second semifinal in the soccer complex's main stadium on Friday at around 3 p.m.
Makua Lani, who beat Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II runner-up Kalaheo on Wednesday, will play KS-Hawaii in a consolation match at Field 10 Friday afternoon.
