The Heisman Memorial Trophy will be on display at New City Nissan this weekend, company president John Uekawa said.
"Nissan is a sponsor of the Heisman Trophy, as well as college football, with the Heisman house and all those commercials," Uekawa said. "We had the opportunity to bring down the official Heisman Trophy to the state of Hawaii and being that (former Saint Louis and Oregon quarterback) Marcus Mariota received the Heisman Trophy just a few years ago, we thought it was only fitting for the kids and the young football stars to be able to take a look at it."
The trophy is located in the middle of the showroom at the Kalihi car dealership and will be on display from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
"We're not trying to sell cars, we're trying to sell community," Uekawa said.
