Division champions Mililani in the West and Kahuku in the East are the top seeds for the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I girls' soccer tournament, which opens Monday.
But as Pearl City taught the field last year, being a lower seed does not diminish a team's chances. The Chargers were the West's fifth seed and won the OIA crown. This year, the Chargers are the West's fourth seed.
The 12-team tournament features the top six teams from each division. The top six will secure Division I state tournament berths.
