Jordyn Keamo had 15 kills and two aces and Inoa Fields added 14 kills, one block and one ace last night to help Mililani turn back Kaiser, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, in O'ahu Interscholastic Association girls volleyball playoff action. The Trojans improved to 13-0 in league play and will face Moanalua (13-0) at about 7 p.m. Tuesday in an OIA Red Conference semifinal at McKinley. The Cougars fell to 11-2 and will play Pearl City (8-4) at 5 p.m. today in a losers' bracket match at Farrington. A few points the opposite way in each set yesterday easily could have reversed matters. The first two sets in particular were extremely tight, as neither team ever led by more than three points. Kaiser rallied from a 12-7 deficit and led Game 3 at 23-22 after a kill by Haley Durham, but three straight hitting errors gave Mililani the set and a 2-1 match advantage.Game 4 started out close as well but Fields notched two kills and a block to highlight a stunning 11-0 run by the Trojans after it was tied at 7-7. Durham then had two kills and a block to lead the Cougars respond with a 9-2 run that cut the lead to 20-16, but they could not get closer and a hit into the net finally ended it.Courtney Phillips led Kaiser with 12 kills and Durham added 10 kills and five blocks.Mililani coach Val Crabbe said the Trojans needed to be wary of the Cougars' formidable block."Their size is always a challenge, so we had to be smart," Crabbe said. "Some of our girls had a rough night, but they all pulled together. They truly support each other."
