Oregon State's Rashaad Reynolds received a couple of early Christmas presents in the 2013 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl as the Beavers rolled over the Boise State Broncos in a 38-23 victory at Aloha Stadium.

Reynolds was named the Beavers' MVP of the Hawaii Bowl as the senior cornerback returned two fumble recoveries for touchdowns. Prior to the game, Reynolds had scored zero touchdowns in his career.

The first of Reynolds' touchdowns came off of junior defensive linemen Scott Crichton's quarterback sack, forcing the ball to pop loose. Reynolds scooped the ball up and scored on a three-yard fumble return.

Reynolds' second touchdown came from a forced fumble by sophomore cornerback Larry Scott. Scott knocked the ball out of the hands of Boise State receiver Troy Ware as Reynolds once again scooped the ball up and scored on a 70-yard fumble return.

"It's an amazing feeling," said Reynolds. "It's crazy. It's bitter sweet. That was my last game."

After trading field goals early in the first quarter, the Beavers jumped out to a 17-3 lead after a 2-yard touchdown pass followed by Reynold's first fumble recovery touchdown.

The Broncos kicked another field goal to cut the deficit to 11 points. After stopping Oregon State on fourth down, the Broncos drove down the field, but their drive was cut short with Reynold's second fumble return touchdown.

Oregon State then extended their lead to 38-6 after a pair of touchdown runs by junior running back Terron Ward and sophomore running back Storm Woods.

Boise State fought their way back with a few scores, including an 85-yard touchdown reception by Matt Miller, but it wasn't enough as the Beavers came out victorious 38-23.

"It's been a while since we've won but this team never quit," said Oregon State head coach Mike Riley. "We've had plenty of disappointment, quite a bit of adversity through the year."

The win snaps Oregon State's five-game losing streak after winning six of their first seven games.

In the process, junior quarterback Sean Mannion set the Pac-12 single-season passing record with 4,662 yards. Mannion finished the day completing 24 of 33 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown. He also threw one interception.

Mannion's lone touchdown pass came courtesy of the 2013 Biletnikoff Award winner Brandin Cooks.

The junior receiver finished with eight catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. He also had four rushes for 29 yards.

Cooks also set a new Pac-12 single-season record for most receiving yards with 1,730.

Boise's Miller finished the game with 11 receptions for 206 yards and a touchdown as he was named the Broncos' MVP. The junior receiver's 85-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter was the longest in Hawaii Bowl history.

Despite Boise's recent controversy between interim head coach Bob Gregory and senior quarterback Joe Southwick, junior quarterback Grant Hedrick showed he was capable of leading the Broncos as he completed 32 of 44 passes for 382 yards and a touchdown.

Southwick was sent home last week by Gregory after violating team rules in Honolulu.

"I don't believe there was any loss of focus by the team given the distractions this week," said Gregory. "We had good bowl practices but we just didn't make enough plays to stay in the game."

A crowd of 22,324 was in attendance in Halawa at Aloha Stadium. The biggest ovation of the night came after a successful point-after attempt late in the third quarter. The successful kick sent the ball into the stands as fans threw the ball around the stadium in an attempt to keep the ball away from security.
