The 23rd Annual Hawaii Union Builders Goodwill Senior Bowl will be held Friday at Mililani High School's John Kauinana Stadium.
Each team has a roster of 50 players, all are high school seniors from their respective OIA and ILH football programs.
Every Oahu high school that participated in varsity football is represented in the game by at least one player.
The West team is made up of Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division schools (Division I and II) along with Damien, Kamehameha-Kapalama and Punahou of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu. Mililani's Rod York is the head coach of the team. Two of the state's most prolific passers — Punahou's Larry "Tui" Tuileta, the ILH Offensive Player of the Year, and Campbell's Isaac Hurd, the OIA Red West co-Offensive Player of the Year — headline the West squad.
OIA Eastern Division schools along with Iolani, Pac-Five, Saint Francis and Saint Louis of the ILH make up the East team. Moanalua's Arnold Martinez is the head coach. Kalani's Noah Brum, the OIA White Offensive Player of the Year, along with Moanalua's Micah Kaneshiro and Farrington's Sanele Lavatai — who shared OIA Red East Offensive Player of the Year honors — highlight the East roster.
Proceeds from the game will be distributed through scholarships to outstanding student-athletes. Since 1989, the HUB Foundation has distributed nearly $600,000 to student-athletes and student organizations. Each team has won 10 times and the game has ended in a tie twice. The West beat the East, 21-20, in last year's game at Kamehameha's Kunuiakea Stadium.
OC16 will be televising this year's game live. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
