Rosolowich resigns as football coach after 10 seasons

After 10 seasons at the helm, Gary Rosolowich said he has resigned as football coach at Kailua High School.

The Surfriders were 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red East, where they finished fifth. They were eliminated in the first round of the OIA Red tournament by Kapolei, 42-27.

"It was time for a change," said Rosolowich, business man who was a non-faculty coach. "There were enormous challenges, some met, some not so well."

In his 10 seasons as coach, Rosolowich compiled a 33-57-1 record. His teams reached the OIA quarterfinals four times, but never advanced beyond that.

"I had a great time with the kids and players," Rosolowich said of his coaching career. "I enjoyed it."
