Punahou, Kamehameha remain nationally ranked


Aided with wins against six-time defending state champion Kamehameha, Punahou jumped 11 notches to No. 9 in the PrepVolleyball.com's first in-season top 100 national rankings, the website announced Thursday.

The Warriors (2-1), whose only loss is to the Buffanblu (4-0), are ranked 16th. Punahou also beat Kamehameha in a Warriors'-hosted preseason tournament.

Punahou was ranked 20th in the preseason rankings, while Kamehameha was 15th.

They were the only Hawaii teams in the top 100.

PrepVolleyball.com also announced its top 250 Senior Aces. The following Hawaii girls made it. (There was no distinction in ranking.)

Outside hitters-Campbell's Ashley Kelsey (verbally committed to New Mexico); Punahou's Tai Manu-Olevao (UCLA).
