Mid-Pacific got another strong performance on the mound, this time from senior Brent Sakurai, to help lead the Owls over Campbell, 2-1, and into the title game of the Wally Yonamine Foundation/HHSAA Division I Baseball Championships.
Sakurai allowed just one run on four hits in a complete game victory, outdueling Sabers' starter Ian Kahaloa, who gave up just two runs on four base hits.
Bryce Asao went 2-for-3 from the dish to lead the Owls, who will face Mililani, an 8-6 winner over fourth-seed Hilo in the late game. First pitch for the title game between Mid-Pacific and Mililani is set for 6:30 p.m. at Iron Maehara Stadium.
