Boise State blazed past Hawaii with a 49-14 victory, extending the Warriors' losing streak to seven games.

Broncos' quarterback Joe Southwick finished the game 17-of-29 passing for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns and receiver Aaron Burks had 5 catches for 107 yards and a score.

Hawaii struggled on its first offensive series, going three and out. After a Broncos punt return, Hawaii running back Will Gregory was flagged for a personal foul and was ejected from the game for throwing a punch. Boise State capitalized on the good field position and Shane Williams-Rhodes ran in for a 9 yard touchdown.

Hawaii cornerback/kick returner Mike Edwards got the crowd on its feet and tied the game at 7 with a 100 yard kickoff return, his third for a touchdown this season.

Hawaii's defense stepped up and forced Boise State to punt. However, Hawaii's Scott Harding fumbled the ensuing punt and Boise State's Josh Borgman recovered the ball on the Hawaii 14 yard line. Five plays later, Joe Southwick found Matt Miller for a 3 yard touchdown.

Hawaii could not get anything going on offense and was forced to punt. Boise State's 6 play, 80 yard drive that followed was capped off with a 46 yard touchdown pass from Southwick to Aaron Burks with 33 seconds left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, after Hawaii's Tyler Hadden missed a 47 yard field goal attempt, Boise State advanced down the field and Jay Ajayi finished the drive with a 13 yard rushing touchdown.

The Warrior offense stalled again and punted. Starting on their own 24 yard line, Southwick completed the drive with a 10 yard lob to a wide open Holden Huff with 1:12 left in the half.

In the third quarter, Boise State's Jonathan Brown sacked Sean Schroeder and the ball slipped out of his hand. Defensive lineman Demarcus Lawrence scooped up the ball and returned it for a 25 yard touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Boise State defensive end Tyler Horn sacked Hawaii backup quarterback Jeremy Higgins and Beau Martin recovered the fumble, and backup quarterback Grant Hedrick finished off the drive, rushing for a 4 yard touchdown.

Later in the final stanza, starting at their own 28 yard line, Jeremy Higgins drove the team into Boise State territory, and John Lister capped the drive with a 1 yard touchdown run for the final score of the contest.
