Leilehua boys win OIA Cross Country Championships


Leilehua boys took home the top three individual places en route to a decisive team victory in the 2012 OIA Varsity Cross Country Championships held at Hawaii Pacific University's Hawaii Loa Campus Saturday.

The trio of Christopher Olverson (16:44.44), Jordan Castro (16:53.87) and Dylan Martinez (17:00.21) led the way for Mules, who won the Boys team title with a score of 70 points, besting second place Pearl City by a 23-point margin.

In the Girls division, Leilehua and Roosevelt finished as co-champions, with each posting 72 points to finish in first.

Pearl City's Maile Shigemasa took home the individual title with a time of 20:03.07.
