Kainoa Obrey named 'Iolani girls volleyball head coach

'Iolani School 1999 graduate Kainoa Obrey was named as the head of the 'Iolani School girls varsity volleyball program, according to a press release issued by the school.

He replaces Jenic Tumaneng who stepped down.

Obrey has been the assistant director and head coach of  technical development for the Ku'ikahi Volleyball Club since 2005. He was also the boys volleyball coach at Mid-Pacific Institute from 2007 to 2010. In 2008, he was named ILH Volleyball co-Coach of the Year. He has also coached at Hawaii Baptist Academy and Hawaii Pacific University.

Obrey is a graduate of Brigham Young University and also played professional baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals.
