OIA Red semifinals set for Friday

In a rematch of last year's O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red championhip, Kahuku will play Leilehua, in Red tournament semifinal 7:30 p.m. Friday at Aloha Stadium.

In the 4:30 p.m. opener, Mililani will play Wai'anae in an all-Western Division semifinal.

Both games will be televised live on OC 16.

The winners advance to the Nov. 5 OIA Red championship at Aloha Stadium and will secure Division I state tournament berths. The losers play for third place Nov. 6 at a site to be determined for the league's third and final state berth.

Last year, the Red Raiders beat the Mules, 24-20, for the Red title.

During the regular season, Wai'anae handed Mililani its only loss of the season, 42-28.

In JV semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday, Farrington will visit Campbell and Kapolei will travel to Kahuku. The winners advance to the championship, which will be held Nov. 6 prior to the varsity third-place game.
