Pac-Five rallies to beat Damien, 30-10

Chalson Baitlon opened the second half with an 87-yard kickoff as part of 30 unanswered points that aided Pac-Five to rally past Damien, 30-10, Friday night in Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II football at Aloha Stadium.

It was the first of two Baitlon kickoff returns for TDs. Following a safety, he returned a free kick 68 yards for another TD for the Wolf Pack (3-7, 2-5).

The Monarchs (0-9, 0-6) took a 10-0 lead after a 67-yard TD pass from Dylan Yonamine-Baysa to Daylan Demello and a 39-yard field goal by Tanner Asuncion.

But Pac-Five ignited its comeback when Jack Foster hit Everett Kim on a three-yard TD pass midway through the second quarter to make it 10-7 by the half.

Baitlon's 87-yard kickoff return to start the second half gave Pac-Five a 14-10 lead just 13 seconds into the second half.

Later, Kaohukea Sandborn sacked Yonamine-Baysa in the end zone for a safety to increase Pac-Five's lead to 16-10. But just 13 seconds later, Baitlon returned the free kick by Damien 68 yards for a TD to make it 23-7.

Early in the fourth quarter, RB Darius Anderson's two-run made it 30-10.
