Led by Robert Wright III's massive 36-point performance, Neumann Goretti (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) fended off Mount Saint Joseph (Baltimore, Maryland) in double overtime to win, 76-72, to capture the 2022 Iolani Classic championship Wednesday night.

Sultan Adewale was big down the stretch and contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, and Amir Williams added 12 points, seven boards for the Saints, ranked 10th in the MaxPreps Basketball Rankings.

After upsetting top-ranked and heavily favored Montverde (Florida) 56-55, the Gaels were looking to take down another ranked opponent, but the Saints clutched up down the stretch.

Wright III, who was the tournament's Most Valuable Player, scored 10 total points in the overtime periods.

"I feel like the Iolani Classic was great, it was unbelievable. All the Nike teams were here. It was great. It was a great experience, met some great people as well," Wright III said.

Abrams cut down the lane to cash in Hansberry's assist to open the second overtime period and Hansberry split a pair of free throws for a 70-67 lead. After Adewale's basket, Abrams extended the lead back to three off the baseline inbounds.

Wright III worked his way in the lane to cut it to one, and was fouled in transition to give the Saints a 73-72 lead with 1:01 left in the period but failed to convert the free throw.

Abrams tried to lob it to Farrell, but it was intercepted by Neumann Goretti. Wright III drained some clock and passed it to Khaafiq Myers, who found Williams in the left corner for the dagger 3-pointer.

"It was a great experience, we played against some great talent. Got the dub with my team and got the championship. No one expected us to win but we came out here and did it," Wright III said.

Amani Hansberry, a University of Illinois commit and the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, had a monster double-double dropping 24 points and hauling 15 boards in the loss.

Austin Abrams (Stonewall College) added 18, Tyronne Farrell with 13 and Brashawn Galloway chipped in 12 off the bench.

The Saints led by as much as 13 in the third quarter and held a five-point lead going into the fourth.

Mount Saint Joseph opened the fourth on a 7-0 run to cut down the deficit to four, 49-45. Neumann Goretti extended the lead back to eight, but the Gaels clawed back with another 7-0 run and took the lead for the first time on Hansberry's bucket in the paint with 2:17 left.

Hansberry kept Mount Saint Joseph within one and took the lead off Abrams' 3-pointer. Wright III drove and was contested but Adewale was there to clean up the miss to tie the game at 59 with 3.0 seconds left in regulation. Wright III intercepted the inbounds but his half court heave was no good to head into overtime.

"He's great, he's our energy guy. When we need a bucket, we go to him. He was following everything up for us," Wright III said of Adewale.

Galloway opened up overtime to give Mount Saint Joseph the lead, but Adewale, who had five offensive rebounds, cleaned up another Wright III miss to tie it at 61. Following Hansberry's finish at the rim, Wright III and Abrams traded free throws. Wright III's floater tied the game at 65, but Farrell was fouled and swished both foul shots with 16.3 seconds remaining.
