Kailua got a much needed win in dramatic fashion, as Orion Medeiros lifted a shot to left field for a walk-off two-run home run to lift the Surfriders over the Cougars, 7-6.

The victory snapped a two-game skid for Kailua (3-2), and more importantly helped the Surfriders keep pace in the standings in the OIA East, where Kalani sits atop the division at 4-1, followed by Roosevelt (4-2) and Moanalua (3-2) tied with Kailua in third.

Down 5-4 in the top of the final inning, Kaiser tied the game on one-out double by Kade Hue that scored Chaz Kagimoto and took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Rylan Kawakami that brought home Adam Tong.

Shayde Kuhns led off the last of the seventh with a ground ball double to left, putting the tying run aboard, and set the stage for Medeiros' heroics.

Kuhns, who went three for four and tied the game in the third with a home run of his own, and Medeiros accounted for six of the teams' seven RBI and all three extra base hits. Kailua's top of the order registered all but one of the team's nine hits and six of the seven runs scored.

Makai Miyamoto went four innings in relief of starter Mikey Hanano, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out two and walking two to earn the victory.

All of three losses suffered by Kaiser (2-3) this season have been by a single run each, and two in walk-off fashion.
