Mon, Feb 21, 2022 @ Punahou
Punahou opened its tournament slate scoring eight goals and a clean sheet in an 8-0 win over Moanalua at Alexander Field.
Xevani Salanoa scored twice for the Buffanblu in the first half, at the 15 minute mark and again in the 38th, as the home team reached the intermission up 6-0.
Coming out of the break, the scoring pace slowed until Jordyn Edlredge-Sagapolutele broke through for a score in the 61st minute. Punahou capped its scoring for the afternoon in the 78th minute, with Sachie Ilae's second goal of the game.
Up next for Punahou is a familiar opponent in Kekaulike, the third seed and MIL champion, who bounced the Buffanblu from the 2020 tourney with a 1-0 victory.
The Buffanblu are seeking their first state championship since 2011.
