University Lab showed up when it mattered the most.

The Jr. Bows outscored Kau by 14 in the second half for a 54-40 win at Earl C. Holmer Gymnasium Wednesday night in the opening round of the Snapple/HHSAA Division II Girls Basketball Championships.

Both team were tied at 22 at the break, but University Lab pulled away to advance to Thursday's quarterfinals where it will take on second-seeded Seabury Hall at 7:00 p.m.

Tyra Goo Sun notched a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Jr. Bows.

The Trojans' Reishalyn NK Jara led all scorers with 17 points.
