Fifth-seeded Waimea bested Hana with a 25-13, 14-25, 25-12, 25-16 win in the second first round match of the New City Nissan Division II Girls Volleyball State Championships at Saint Francis' gym Wednesday night.
Gabrielle Peleras had a double-double of 19 kills and 11 digs to power the Menehunes (11-2) into Thursday's quarterfinal against fourth-seeded Kaiser.
Shaylee Roback had 18 assists, 12 digs and seven kills to lead the Dragons in the loss.
