Visiting Saint Francis won the battle of the bats with a 9-3 victory over Punahou in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu contest Wednesday afternoon.

The Saints outlasted the Buffanblu in a contest where both teams each had 10 hits or more as they picked up their second straight win to improve to 2-2 in the league standings.

Punahou saw its three-game winning streak snapped as it dropped to 3-2.

The Saints jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the top of the first inning, but home runs by Kennedy Ishii and D'Asha Saiki gave the home team a 3-2 advantage after the opening stanza.

Saint Francis answered right back with two more runs in the second inning to take the lead for good.

A five-run fourth inning powered by Saint Francis' Sammie Ofoia's grand slam put the game out of reach for Punahou.

Sierrah Kupihea was the winning pitcher while Bailey Akimseu took the loss for Punahou.
