There may no hotter team in the state than Kamehameha.

The sixth-ranked Warriors found a way yet again Saturday night, rallying to their fourth consecutive win with a 43-42 road victory at second-ranked Iolani.

Jayden Zarriello scored a team-high 12 points and Kobe Young drained the go-ahead bucket on a 3-pointer from the right wing with 40 seconds left to complete the come-from-behind win for Kamehameha, which improved to 4-2 in the Division I standings of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu.

The victory puts the Warriors in sole possession of second place in the league, one-half game behind Saint Louis (5-1).

"Four straight (wins) in our league is pretty cool, but there's so much more basketball left and we will accept it for what it is and move on to Punahou," Kamehameha coach Greg Tacon said.

The Warriors overcame a season-high 23 points by Iolani guard Robby Mann and a third quarter in which they were outscored 11-1. They trailed by as many as seven early in the fourth quarter.

A 3-pointer from the left corner by Kaeler Kahana gave Kamehameha a 36-35 lead with 4:02 to play.

Iolani led 40-38 with 2:20 remaining after a Nick Kennedy free throw, but Zarriello knocked down both ends of a 1-and-1 to tie it seconds later.

Mann reclaimed the lead for the Raiders on their next possession when he scored on a backdoor cut and layup off the assist from Zach Gelacio. They had a chance to extend the lead to two possessions with just under a minute left, but Helam Baldomero missed a pair from the charity stripe.

The Warriors took the lead for good on their next trip downcourt when Young, a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward, spotted up from the right corner after receiving a crosscourt pass from Fatu Sua-Godinet and knocked down the winning 3.

"We kind of almost lost today the same way we did against Maryknoll," Iolani coach Dean Shimamoto said, referring to Tuesday's 44-41 loss to the Spartans. "Some of the core things were very similar, but some of the more technical things — I mean, you can't win a game in the ILH when you shoot poorly from the free-throw line, you turn the ball over and you don't play well as a team. If our motto is ‘One Team' and we're not playing well as a team, that's bad news for Iolani and that's what you could see in a game like that tonight."

Raiders' 6-foot-9 junior center Hugh Hogland had a pair of baskets in the first quarter, but was held without a field goal the rest of the way and finished with just seven points.

"(Hogland) had a couple touches that we weren't happy about early on, but he's so hard for us to defend because we have some height, but we don't have really big size, so we can get moved off the block a little especially when we switch, but for the most part he didn't get many rebounds, so I'm happy that at least he kept him off the boards somewhat," Tacon said.

Shimamoto credited the Warriors' defense, but also lamented his team's offensive inefficiency.

"They changed up a little bit (in the second half)," Shimamoto said. "They stopped switching off of him — they usually play a switching defense — they didn't switch quite as much, but we had trouble finding him a little bit. We got out in transition and couldn't get some finishes, but by all accounts it was kind of just an ugly second half for us."

Iolani was whistled for 11 total fouls — just three in the first half — to 18 for Kamehameha, but failed to capitalize at the free-throw line, where it was just 15- of 28.

"There might have been a little bit of fatigue in there. I could have done a better job of rotating guys in more in the second half — I shortened the rotation in the second half — but I think they got aggressive and we got a little bit more passive and when you're being passive on the offensive end it's going to carry over to the defensive end and they kind of attacked us and I thought that's where they had an advantage," Shimamoto said.

Tacon said the key was not getting too far behind the Raiders.

"We didn't play our best ball in the third quarter. I mean, that was a tough third quarter for us, because we knew the game was going to slow down a lot if they got a lead on us and we couldn't knock down any shots and they're so aggressive — Robby was really aggressive tonight," Tacon said.

Pono Arias scored all eight of his points in the first half. Sua-Godinet came off the bench and netted all seven of his points in the fourth quarter and Young added six points.

Zarriello was the Warriors' third different leading scorer in ILH games.

"That's our MO," Tacon said of his team's depth. "Our second five could be starting for a lot of teams, but our kids are unselfish about it and they understand the situation and they all get their chance and if they don't get their chance they're going to root for their teammates."

Shimamoto said Kamehameha's balance on offense is a tough task to deal with.

"You're always worried because they've got a bunch of shooters out there and you can't sleep because there's three or four guys that can knock down shots from their (point guard) to their (center), so they're a tough cover, but the ILH is what it is and we're just going to have to try and get back on track and make a late run and see what happens," Shimamoto said.

Iolani's three ILH losses have come to a total of six points.

The Raiders (3-3) visit ninth-ranked Punahou (2-4) Wednesday.

Kamehameha visits No. 7 Maryknoll (2-4) Tuesday.
