As the run of fall sports comes to an end and we head into the holiday season, I wanted to take a moment to share my appreciation for the support the ScoringLive community, and fans in general, have shown for Hawaii high school sports.
Despite torrential rains, nearly 20,000 fans showed up to cheer on their favorite teams in Friday's Division I and II title games, impressive numbers given the weather, and testament to the interest in prep football.
Also testament to interest in prep sports were our numbers on 'title night,' which marked the best single day of site traffic in our history thus far. More than 45,000 unique visitors viewed 400,000-plus pages on ScoringLive.com, with over 260,000 of those views alone coming during the Kahuku-Saint Louis battle.
Those record numbers are a representative slice of what has been another banner year for us in terms of user growth, and big thanks are in order to you all for making us your go-to source for stats, scores, stories, images, video highlights and more.
Please join me in offering a huge round of applause to ScoringLive staff, for all that they do to bring you the best possible product week in and week out. From our staff and contributing photographers who capture the on-field and on-court moments, to the highlights our videographers help you relive, to our reporters who recap the games and provide water cooler talk with rankings, predictions and analysis, I honestly could not ask for a better group of individuals, period.
I'm also very grateful to all of the leagues statewide, the Oahu Interscholastic Association, Interscholastic League of Honolulu, Big Island Interscholastic Federation, Kauai Interscholastic Federation and Maui Interscholastic League, as well as the Hawaii High School Athletic Association, for embracing our mission as well. Without the leagues and their athletic directors lending their support to us, our job would be much more difficult to pull off.
We can't forget our corporate sponsors who help 'keep the lights on' and have been instrumental to our growth: Pizza Hut/Taco Bell, HawaiiUSA FCU, New City Nissan, HMSA, Hawaiian Electric Companies, Ruby Tuesday and the Queen's Center for Sports Medicine. Also wanted to recognize Emi Anamizu and Core Group One for all of their support over the years as well.
None of this would be possible though, without the love and support of my wife Melissa and my two kids, Jaden and Braylon. I cannot thank them enough for being there for me, and for embracing the amount of time and effort it takes to make something like ScoringLive happen.
And with that, on behalf of all of us here at ScoringLive, Happy Thanksgiving and Support High School Sports!
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ScoringLive continue its mission to provide the best and most comprehensive coverage of high school sports in the state of Hawaii and beyond.
Please consider making a contribution today.
