Just as they did in 2013, the Mid-Pacific boys and Pearl City girls were victorious at The Civilian Marksmanship Program/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Air Riflery State Championships Tuesday on the campus of Kamehameha-Maui.
Colin Chun (194 prone-157 standing-184 kneeling—535 total) was second overall to lead the Owls. Aaron Kam (191-160, 179—530) place sixth, Colby Sakumoto (192-161-174—527) eighth and Zachary Chang (189-156-181—526) 11th for Mid-Pacific (2,118 total points).
Waiakea was second (2,086) in the team results and last year's champion, Punahou, finished third (2,080). Pearl City (2,042) and Kauai (1,988) rounded out the top five teams, respectively.
Waiakea's Guy Yokoe won (192-161-184—537) to become the fourth individual state champion from his school, joining Steven Zonaki (2004), Regan Ancheta (2005) and Justin Gray (2013).

Pearl City won the girls' team title with 2,104 points over Mid-Pacific (2,097). Waiakea was third (2,041), followed by Kalani (1,973) and St. Anthony (1,920).
