Third-ranked Campbell crushed Pearl City, 11-0 in five innings in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I softball playoff semifinals on Thursday evening at McKinley's softball stadium. This was third meeting between both teams, Campbell won the previous two meetings, 4-0 on Mar. 17 and 2-1 on Apr. 11.
The Sabers will play the Trojans, who beat the Cougars, in the OIA title game at 7 p.m. on Friday night. Pearl City will play Kaiser for third place.
Caragh Morris went 3-for-3 had an RBI and scored two runs. Four of the first six Campbell batters got a hit to start off the first inning. Chardonnay Pantastico went 2-for-2 in the first inning, scored two runs and her 3RBI triple gave the Sabers an 8-0 lead in the first inning.
Darien Robinson's RBI single brought in Nashlynn Anguay in the second inning. Pantastico and Morris scored their second runs in the third and fourth innings respectively.
Elisa Favela pitched five innings, allowing one hit and striking out five and walking two. She went 1-for-3 and an RBI.
Kristin Frost pitched one inning and gave up eight runs on five hits and was pulled for Tyanna Kaaialii, who pitched the remainder of the game. Natalie Kang went 1-for-2 for the Chargers.
