The host Raiders fought valiantly for about a half, but national power Oak Hill was just too much for the home team. 

Oak Hill (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) outscored Iolani by 33 points in the second half to win the final quarterfinal game, 82-39 late Thursday. The Warriors, ranked third nationally by USA Today, move on to face St. John Bosco in the 8 p.m. semifinal game of the 31st annual Iolani Classic.

The visitors from Virginia are making their ninth appearance in the tourney and improved to 32-2 all time. Oak Hill has finished first in the tournament six times with the last title coming in 2010.

Ohio State commit Daniel Giddens and Lindell Wigginton led the Warriors in scoring with 12 points each. Joe Hampton had a productive night with 11 points on five shot attempts. Dwayne Bacon, who sat out in the first round due to sickness, rounded out the scorers in double figures with 10 points. 

Oak Hill took advantage of its height advantage and had a lot of shots within the key. The Warriors shot an outstanding 85.3 percent from within the 3-point arc, only missing on five of their 34 2-point shot attempts.

Leading point man for host Iolani was backup point guard Bryson Hamada with six points. Robby Mann and John Lee each added five points.

Oak Hill rattled off two quick scores on back-to-back possessions to start the game up 4-0. Iolani would answer with a John Lee triple and two Zach Gelacio free throws to take its only lead of the game 79 seconds into the first quarter.

The Warriors roared back with a 17-5 run to take a 21-10 lead late in the opening period, but Iolani was able to get a Hamada score and two Mann free throws to make it 21-14 heading into the second. 

Riding the emotion from the home crowd, the Raiders rattled five straight points to start the second quarter to make the score 21-19. However, a timeout by Iolani coach Dean Shimamoto at the 4:58 mark would end the Iolani run. Following the timeout Oak Hill went on a 10-0 run to grab the game by its reigns. A nice layup by Erik Yamada and a pair of Hamada free throws helped Iolani make it a 31-23 game at the break.

The second half was all Oak Hill. The Warriors outscored Iolani 24-5 in the third quarter and was able to coast to the easy victory.
