Top-seeded Konawaena swept past fourth-seeded Kalaheo 27-25, 25-22 and 25-19 in a semifinal match of the New City Nissan/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II Girls Volleyball State Championships Friday night.
Chanelle Molina posted a match-high 18 kills to go with a team-high 17 digs to lead the Wildcats (17-0). Her younger sister, Celena, chipped in 11 kills with 16 digs, 20 assists, four blocks and two aces and McKenna Ventura added 12 digs, 17 assists and three blocks.
Syenna Masaki led the Mustangs (10-5) with 16 kills and 15 digs.
Konawaena will play second-seeded Seabury Hall in the 5 p.m. final at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Arena. Kalaheo will play Hawaii Baptist in the 2 p.m. third-place match.
Meanwhile, Seabury Hall took care of third-seeded Hawaii Baptist in the other semifinal 25-17, 25-15 and 25-14.
Shayla Hoeft had 14 kills and Phoebe Fickbohm added 18 digs to lead the Spartans (14-0).
Keri Lum had nine kills and Sara Utsugi had 19 digs to lead the Eagles (12-3).
