BIIF postpones weekend events; Baldwin-Lahainaluna moved to Friday


Big Island Interscholastic Federation executive director Lyle Crozier announced that all BIIF athletic events scheduled for Thurssday, Friday and Saturday have been postponed because of the impending threat of weather system Ana.

Thursday's BIIF cheerleading competition at Waiakea has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Waiakea.

Friday's and Saturday's BIIF football semifinals have been moved to Oct. 24 and 25. Times and sites will be determined later.

Meanwhile, the Maui Interscholastc League has moved Saturday's scheduled Baldwin-Lahainaluna football game from Saturday to Friday, Baldwin athletic director Kahai Shishido confirmed. Scheduling is not conflicted Friday because the other game is being played at King Kekaulike.

The league also postponed air riflery and bowling matches. The air riflery meet will be held Tuesday at War Memorial. Bowling has been moved to Oct. 23.
